How do I run my first catalog scan?

Install the app, pick your menus and exclusions in Policies, then start the scan from Findings — results build up step by step and stay in your browser.

  1. Install the app from the Shopify App Store. Installation requests read-only access only; write permission is requested later, only if you use a fix.
  2. Open the app. The dashboard shows your plan, the setup steps and your latest scan summary.
  3. Go to Policies and keep the default strategy "My storefront". Choose your menus: the default menu is used unless you pick others — only you know which menus your theme actually renders.
  4. Set exclusions for products, collections, tags or vendors you deliberately keep out of navigation.
  5. Open Findings and run the scan. The app reads collections, then menus, then products, page by page, with a progress bar. You can cancel at any time; a cancelled scan is marked Incomplete, never wrong.
  6. Work through the results in this order: Broken first, then Needs decision. Not theme-verified is context, not a task list.
  7. Fix with a safe in-app action, or use the deep link and change it in Shopify — then scan again. A fix is only confirmed by a fresh scan.
